Numbers This control panel lets you decide how to display numbers and currencies on your Macintosh. To display numbers without a thousands separator, choose this item. To display numbers with this thousands separator, choose this item. To display numbers with this decimal separator, choose this item. To use your custom settings for the number format, choose this item. Not available because there are no custom settings. To create custom settings, change one of the settings in this window. This shows one format for numbers, using the settings you’ve selected. Use this pop-up menu to choose a pre-configured number format for a region of the world or a stored set of custom settings. To use a new thousands separator, type the character in this box, or press the arrow on the right and choose a thousands separator from the pop-up menu. To use a new decimal separator, type the character in this box, or press the arrow on the right and choose a decimal separator from the pop-up menu. To use a new currency symbol, type the characters in this box. When this button is selected, the currency symbol appears after the number. To place the currency symbol after the number, click this button. When this button is selected, the currency symbol is displayed before the number. To place the currency symbol before the number, click this button. To choose from a set of common thousands separators, use this pop-up menu. To choose from a set of common decimal separators, use this pop-up menu.
